Like the ones you strap to the boot ? Possibly - I'd take the batteries off though, and don't get a cheap rear rack.

What kind of carrier is it - and does it fit on the car OK normally?

It's to fit on a Renault Captur. Halfords are selling a 2 bike rear carrier for £60. Load capacity is 30kg but if I take off the batteries the two bikes should be just under this.

Different racks may have different capabilities so check the manufacturers information before buying. You also need to check your car manual to make sure the tailgate is designed to accommodate a tailgate rack.
