Car blipper/key fob

Anyone had one replaced?
Know of anyone decent, preferably in the Manchester/Stockport area, and how much I should be looking at paying?

One option...
If your key part is physically broken its sometimes sheared at the base of the key on the hinge itself, look and youll see a roll pin that connects the key part itself to a metal hinge.
You can get a blank empty key off ebay, implant your circuit board into it, then insert your key itself...you might have to drive the old pin out and then into the new .

Its difficult to explain but ive done a couple, a VAG and a Peugeot, its fiddly but a cheap option.

Difficult to say, some are main stealer only and several hundred quid, Timpsons advertise being able to do all but when you ask it's not the case. For example VAG cars

So far main dealer wants £180-ish, found a mobile call out place that quoted £160, just want to know this is roughly correct before getting one.

I bought a key body off Ebay and transferred the blade, the electronics and the immobiliser chip relatively painlessly

Yes that's what I'm thinking, I can live with using the key instead of fob for a while longer I think
