I'm all right Jack. What a wonderful attitude some people on this forum have.

I fail to see what you're getting at?

I'm simply saying it is possible to do it on your own when you're young.

There is nothing wrong with my attitude.

I bought my first car at 18 and the insurance was £97 a year for 3rd party. I was working and paid it myself. This was 1985, since then prices have gone mental and even if my son, now 18, was working, I'm sure his salary wouldn't have increased at the rate that insurance premiums have to enable him to afford to buy & run his own car.

Unfortunately we live in the Bradford area where insurance seems to be an optional extra and "drive it like you stole it" is a common theme the nearer to town you get. It's those idiots who are to blame for rising costs for the rest of us.

...Oh, and thanks to heads-up from fellow-poster AJB, I got a quote for my son to be a named driver on my car from Swiftcover of £918 - which is better than the best quote I got previously which was £3200!

I just got my Admiral Multicar renewal
All cars had gone up, so I checked on Gocompare for my daughter's Clio first and no prizes for guessing who was cheapest

Admiral by nearly £250 :whistle::angry: So I called them and went through all our cars and their price is now £500 less.
