Has anyone ever accidentally taken their spouse's car keys to work with them, and then not been scheduled to go back home again until the evening of the next day? How did it work out when you got home?

Did it help to point out that, as they work within walking distance of home, they probably should be walking every day anyway?

It worked out badly. Even though my other half didn't actually need to use the car.

In fact it's likely to happen today again, as I just realised they're in my jeans pocket... Ooops... Send a search party if my posts suddenly stop...

I aint done that myself with Car Keys, but the other half did lock me out once.

I suspect saying that she could walk, would be throwing fuel on the fire ;) bet that did'nt go down too well bud.

tact maybe a survival trait you are going to learn the hard way.;)

we have 2 sets of house keys and 2 sets of bike lock keys, plus 2 car keys. one set is mine, the other is my OH's. he takes his and his only, I take mine and mine only... problem solved, no tact or survival lessons need to be learnt.

I offered to leave them under a plantpot outside the railway station, but no, it's fine. She knows she should be walking to work, so I don't need to play the tactless card, and she knows it was an accident so what's the use of grousing about it - "Where there is perfect information, there are no share price shocks in Marriage PLC"™

And if I bring a few Wagon Wheels home tomorrow night it will be as if nothing ever happened.

Update on Friday.

Or not, depending on how tomorrow night goes.

Of course this has now been stored in the memory bank for a future appearance during a row. Probably.

Almost. Some years ago I was doing an exchange trog along the Ben Lawers ridge north of Loch Tay - five Munros and 20+ miles. When we crossed, I forgot to hand over my car keys.....
Words were exchanged in the pub, many hours later.

It is easy. Don't admit to having them and when you get home help them find them, just don't find them to quickly

That's a nice idea, but the reason I have them is because I borrowed them yesterday, and she knew I had them, and I confirmed that I had them this morning.

It might still be worth a shot though, in a 'kids think you don't think that they're lying even when they're lying and you know they're lying' kind of way.

you could try tying her bunch of keys to a bunch of flowers as a sweetner... (if she likes flowers that is...)
