I was cycling through a local sports facility car park which has through access for cyclists. Ahead of me was a car that has just backed out of a parking space and was now facing in the same direction as I was travelling. A pedestrian exited the sports facility and entered the car. The car sat there in the middle of the road. I'm travelling at about 10mph. From my position on the road I can see cars approaching on the opposing side of the road so I move to undertake the stationary car on the left.
Just before I pass the car I make eye contact with the driver has he looks out the back window. Just as start to pass the car, it starts to move forward and across my path back into a parking space on the left. I don't have time to break and have to do a very tight circle round to the left into the parking area.
WHAT THE **** was that all about? Driver pulls out of a space, waits on the road, pedestrian gets into the car and then the car parks again two spaces down the road. Ahhh!
Now in fairness I should have waited until the cars on the opposing lane had passed as to avoid undertaking the stationary car. But still, I swear I'm going to get killed one day cycling in a car park.
