carbon brakes ???

It depends whether you've got the clinchers, which have aluminium rims, or the tubs, having carbon rims. If you have the carbon rims you need brake pads for carbon rims.

heh... I'm a mean mother - there's no way I'd have allowed WCMnr to use Zipps for cyclocross. Yes, I know they are producing cyclocross wheels.. but I am mean!

Heck - even got WCMnrs 404s & disc at an exceedingly good price, but still very careful about useage! Simply as I couldn't afford to replace them if he broke them!
