I have bikes with Sram and Shimano. I prefer the Sram both on hood shape, double tap action and the positivity when you change. It really is personal choice though.

SRAM have recalled a lot of their road and cycle cross hydraulic kit. In doing so SRAM treated customers like mushrooms (kept in the dark, and fed shoot) ... For customer service alone I would take Shimano.
