I hope they are fitted so they break off easilly ,could be dodgy if you went over the handlebars .

Seems an expensive alternative to gloves to me.

handy for the brakes and shifters…

i can only see them being of any benefit on a beginners' track day, and even then they probably wouldn't be allowed…

Well, I'll buck the trend and admit though they do look ridiculous, it would certainly help my terminally cold hands on winter rides. I've seen a similar solution made of neoprene that fits nearer the hoods.

Dodgy.
I have an idea, have you heard of things called gloves? Radical as it may seem, they come in pairs, one glove for each hand. They enclose the whole hand in warm material. Very good at keeping out the cold.

Actually I could do with these on my works UPV (see other thread in cafe). I have my hands in and out of gloves all day. On the road bike they could be useful, thinner gloves, wind protection. I don't mind looking stupid if I'm comfortable!

I buy new gloves all the time, but nothing works for me. Recently I bought a pair of Sealskinz lobster gloves, I'm hoping that this winter they'll work for me. But I'm like this at the onset of every winter, full of hope, but knowing deep down that my I'm going to be crying with pain 30 miles from home due to cold hands.

In all seriousness, I do know that some people do suffer from cold hands and gloves just don't help.
Probs teaching you to suck eggs, but have you tried the Altura Night Visions? As far as I am concerned they are the mutts. I can't use them for any temp above freezing they are that good.

Last year I was using Sealskinz most expensive technical glove, cost me a few quid but didn't help. I'm not sure if I've tried the Alturas, but possibly I have! I have a cupboard full of failed gloves!

I reckon some of those bar mitts with lobster gloves would probably be ok even for me at sub zero. Not seen a UK seller yet though.

Not cycling-specific gloves, but the most succesful I've found so far were Rohans earlier this year. They were also cheaper than a lot of the known cycling brands.

Dag nabbit, I left them on the train on the way back from Southend last month…

I'm thinking of going into production with this. It's the end of cold hands as we know it - only a crude mock-up at the moment but the chimenea BBQ bike could be a big hit - fire it up and off you go...
