Carbon road bike

It's always a bit of a worry when someone who's about to potentially drop 3k on a bike doesn't already know what they want, and even more so when you get the 1 to 3 k spread.

Nevertheless, in the absence of existing kit, I would point the OP at the Canyon website where there's great value to be had.

Maybe if he tells us what he likes and doesn't like about his Defy...

I don't have any issues with my Defy , in fact I love it but I bought it as an introduction to modern road bikes . It turns out that I am really enjoying it so I want a better bike .
Ive just been into the Giant shop again and was told for longer rides stick with the defy range and was shown the defy advanced 2 . I was also shown the TCR but told it was more for racing .

Well I went in for a pair of gloves and came out without any gloves but a deposit paid on a TCR composite 1 . Its a white one .

Well done, white bikes are the fastest type. Giant ones even more so.

Did you consider the 2k Ridley from Pearsons with full electronic Di2? (down from 3.5k)

I did look at the electric shifting thingy but im weary of things like that . A bit too techy for simple old me .

Did you get a deal on the Giant as it's a 2013? Nice bike...white not as quick as red, but white is faster with red decals
