Apologies for a thread that is clearly for the Chaps....

If 2010 was the Year of the Checked Shirt Revival, then 2011 is, so we are told, going to be the Year of the Cardigan.

Not those ridiculouse Mark Ronson jobs that look like refugees from the ghastly Mad Men, but skinny cardigans, striped, over the ubiquitous check shirts, paired with skinny jeans. And, just when you thought it was safe to go out in the rain, plimsolls are back!

Now - presuming you have the figure for the look, will you be buttoning up? Or do you think that cardigans belong in the past along with meerschaum pipes and carpet slippers?

(Those of you who smoke meerschaum pipes and wear carpet slippers can bog off. Nobody wants to know.)

Time to get them out boys!

Actually, I have a nice cardigan or two, and...since Christmas, a lovely woollen shawl - it is fantastic!

Edited to add an English 'l' - azy speling

Eh? I thought this look was fashionable about five years ago? At least you would have thought so looking in the window of any high street fashion retailer. Or at me.

This is why you should never throw out old clothes that are still wearable - every fashion comes round again several times in a lifetime.

Cardies are great, both thick ones and thin ones! Although I far prefer a cardie with shirt and tie to the more 'loose' styles.

I mean, I don't think it had gone away yet.
Cardigans have been seriously out for the last three or four years, unless you're Matt Smith. It's been V-necks, V-necks, V-necks, with the occasional distressed round neck skewed to one side.
