Indeed, that is a great result. In fact it's more of a result than I got!!!

I am just happy they took it seriously and managed to complete everything in less than three months. Hopefully such incidents will continue to be extremely rare or more preferable non-existent.

It just shows how stupidly inconsistent our judicial system is, your incident was far far more dangerous than mine, you had a huge lorry with lots of huge wheels with a much greater certainty to be fatal if contact was made.

Depends what they mean by 'cautioned'. If they mean he was given a formal Caution, then yes: that is exactly the same in law as it going to court and the defendant pleading guilty. But they could just mean he was given an informal warning.

Either way, I think it's a reasonable result given the circumstances. I too would have expected no further action on this one.

From memory, this is third video incident which has had a successful conclusion in the last couple of months, it does appear that helmet camera video is becoming a more acceptable form of evidence.

It would be good to have a thread so people can see what reports with videos are successful and which are not, plus identifying which Polices forces have an open mind to helmet camera footage. It will show that sometimes the system does work, although not consistently yet.

I received a letter from the Police this morning stating the investigation had been completed and that the driver had been cautioned for careless driving.

What does that mean? Seems like a good result for what happened in the video. It was obviously bad driving, but the type of bad driving that I'm surprised they've done anything about...so good that they've done something (or at least I assume it as, as I have no idea what this caution thing actually means?).
