I'm about to recieve my 500 notes C2W voucher, unfortunatley its through Halfords although they will order you a bike in from another make, and i've also found a few lbs who will accept the halfords voucher.
Anyway, this is my list that i've whittled down, (the Allez is currently just out of my price range) these are all 499
Carerra Vanquish
Scott Speedster 60
Giant Defy 5

the Carerra has the better spec gear wise running Shimano 3400 and a Sora rear mech
the others are 2300
the bike is for winter training and an upgrade from my road converted MTB.
I keep coming back to the Carerra, i don't really want to spend money upgrading parts (bar pedals and tyres)as i'm saving for a 'Sunday' bike which i should get around Feb/March.

Any views or users of the above bikes would be ace
Cheers:thumbsup:

Think I'd go for the Giant, thats only because I have an old one and it's great. But I know the Carrera gets good reviews. Whatever you go for I don't think you'll be disappointed.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Nowt wrong with the carrera and it does offer the most spec for your budget , pity you cant stretch to £650 and get the boardman race as its a cracking bike for the money .
I use a carrera virtuoso for commuting and as a "cheap as chips " bike its done me proud over a number of years and i even use it for winter club runs.
