Cheers Vickster, it doesn't say much on the description, not even what it's made of. That's the odd thing

From the description... "Made with 37% recycled Nylon", but whether that's 100% nylon with 37% of that being recycled material or a polyester & recycled nylon mix is anyone's guess.

I also agree that a gilet is a very handy bit of kit.

Having said that, I wouldn't get the Planet-X one, on account of it being stealth black.
Chainreaction will (cuurently) sell you a nice bright red Castelli, for £26

Wouldn't see that as a deal breaker at all.
Use lights of course.
My castelli is black as is my Aldi.
Endura bright yellow but only because it was cheap at £15.

Been cycling 30+ years and never needed a Gillet

you do surprise me nice (my previous post calling you nice was deleted for some bizarre reason) mr biggs.
You never climb to colder regions?
Never feel like a bit of temporary extra warmth?
Never want a bit of quick temporary drizzle protection?

The only explanation for your quirk I can think of is that you are a devotee of the old newspaper under your jersey tip. (though newspapers less common than they used to be and less packable/are heavier)

So when and what conditions do you have it on for ?

Not many climbs in Northamptonshire and certainly not to colder regions .

Normal attire is a base layer, crane cycling shirt and a cycling jacket with either zip open or closed depending upon temperature.

Starting off the ride when it's cooler. Stopping for coffee put it back on.
Wearing when it's too mild for a jacket but too cold for just a jersey.
Folds away very small but keeps your torso warmer.

Can even be used for a TdF prologue if you want.
