eBikes are not normally my thing, however a colleague has asked me to look at his.
He has had an instance of the chain dropping off the crank which has ripped the Crank Sensor to bits.
From what I can see, the sensor sits on what appears to be something like a reluctor ring on the crank there is a little peg at the bottom of the seatpost that stops it just spinning and allows it to work. The Chain falling inboard has allowed the chain to smash up the sensor.
The sensor now falls out of the housing which is now free to spin around the ring.
Here is a picture with the sensor sat back in the housing.
The whole set up seems a bit crap and vulnerable to exactly what has happened.... Anyway
As I see it, to repair the thing, its going to need a new sensor. This is where it gets a bit awkward...
It seams the sensors are possibly an SR SUNTOUR HESC device.
There appears to be two sensors available often noted as the 4-pin connector and the 6-pin connector, the changeover point is around the 2021 mark and we are not sure what year the bike is, could be anything from 2020 - 2022.
The 6 pin connector seems much more readily available....

The connector on the bike is a 6-way connector, however only 4-ways are used (great for letting in water) so does that make this a 4 or a 6 pin connector?
Are there any decent aftermarket / specialist suppliers for these parts?
I am loathed to go to Halfrauds, they have just completed a posh service on it, essentially because it needed the wheels truing and there was loads of loose spokes, despite wheel truing being in the service he bought they moaned about having to do and clearly didnt want to. - Frankly I'm not sure what they have done, the certainly haven't cleaned the chain.
