Idly browsing the listings for movies to record for later, as is my wont, I stumbled across Carry on Camping, and, out of curiosity, went to see how it fared on IMdB. Which is where I discovered that it was the highest grossing film of 1969. And the runner-up? Carry On Up the Khyber. Gordon Bennet.

It was at a place called Elm Field which having just checked seems to be not where it was filmed at all !

Perhaps they lied to us! It was in the mid 70's and I'd not thought about it since then.
