Cartridge bottom bracket- what is it?

With the demise of the ubiquitous UN55, my current fav BB is the Tange Seiki LN-7922. They have a reasonable current price of between £24-£29, but the prices seem to be going up and up.

Best cartridge BB I ever used was a Chorus, but unfortunately for those misguided unfortunates who are stuck with Japanese rubbish it isn't JIS.

Pah, I'll raise you a Shimano UN91 BB, or even a UN71. Mutts nutz and still in use 25 years later.

My Sugino 75 BB, Cup+Cone, Loose bearing, will probably out last most BBs on the planet. A serious piece of NJS over engineering.
