cassette removal

just got some new wheels from ribble
problem being i dont have a chain whip. Is it possible to remove cassette without one?

Yes. Two bits of wood to use as grips will do it, careful use of a vice if you have one, or bit of old chain if you have some. Or just get an oil filter removal tool for a couple of quid from nearest auto factors and use that.

thanks. next i need a spline tool, as the 1 i own doesnt fit , it s for a freewheel. Why are simple jobs complicated????

Congratulations young one. You have entered the learning phase known to the wise as the "law of ratshit".

The more simple the job, the more likely to go to complete ratshit in a way you didn't predict, especially if you are in a hurry and the shops are shut.
