our cat Coker has just gone into my daughters land of sylvania under her bed and massacred the deer family by various methods , but the worst was the junior member of the family was flung down the stairs and in to the dining room , where he was presented to us , just like a trophy catch.....

Oddly, not quite. I've read some Pratchett and enjoy it up to a point, but I always feel his books go on for about 10% longer than they need to.

Imho the best English humourist since PG Wodehouse, at least his equivalent and at his best possibly better. He has written some turkeys but anything with Commander Vimes and the Nightwatch is comic genius.

I can understand the enthusiasm for him, I just always seem to get to a point where I'm thinking "Oh, do just wrap up now!" and it's never on the last page.
