It is time for CC Ecosse (Embra/East) to dust down their bikes
ohmy.gif
, lube their knees
icon_surprised.gif
, find their shoes
unsure.gif
and head for the cake shop.

The weather looks like it might not be too
rain.gif
or

this weekend, so I am thinking about going for a wee daunder to Craigie's Farm Deli and Cafe, out by Dalmeny - the same as was proposed by Telemark back in January, that became a victim of the deluge.

Anyway, I was thinking of being there for 1200-ish, returning in time to watch the 6 Nations Rugby starting at 1430.

An RV Ride differs from our 'summer' rides in that you choose your own route to the RV cafe and we just meet for cake/coffee/chat. Summer rides we meet and cycle together. I know there are a few newcomers to CC (Ecosse) who haven't been on a ride yet, so, if you live in Edinburgh or East Lothian (or further afield - no limits
laugh.gif
), here's the plan:

- decide how far/what route you want to ride to Craigie's Farm

- guess how long it will take you to ride that distance
ohmy.gif

- double it
tongue.gif

- do the sums to calculate your start time (roughly
icon_rolleyes.gif
)

-
bicycle.gif
:bicycle:
Laie_76A.gif
to Craigie's

- wait for/meet other CCers as they/you arrive

-

cheers.gif
glutton.gif

- depart whenever you wish and ride home (you might even get some company
thumbsup.png
)

If you are new to CC Ecosse and in the area, do come along - we'd love to meet you, learn from/about you - and we don't bite (except the cake

)

I was wondering when the Ecosse crew would emerge from hibernation!

Not been on an RV meet before... sounds good
glutton.gif
;) I hope to be there :biggrin:

I'm looking after my wee boy on Sat am while his mum does Parkrun, so I'll probably just be heading straight there for noon.
Looking forward to catching up! Oh, that and... cake!!!

Bring them both along - good triathlon training

I have a broken paddle shifter on my good bike, so may well be riding out on my hybrid - not very quickly

Won't be able to make it as I'll be roughly at West Linton by then. (I'm doing a round the pentlands ride in training for the Kinross sportive)

But................never mind the cake. Craigies have some fantastic buffalo burgers. :biggrin:

Hmmm, I wonder if I can fit this into a training ride? I'll have to have a look...
Is it unacceptable to show up, say "Hello I'm fimm" and disappear without eating cake?

Not totally :biggrin: ! Even training rides need re-hydration/re-victualling - for the energy, of course

I do hope some of the newer CCers can make it - especially those who might only have started cycling in the last few months

. You know who you are

I'll just need to hurry up and finish off decorating before the weekend or SWMBO won't allow it!

As it's all about cycling wouldn't have been better to linky to the bike map here http://www.craigies....p_-_bike_0.pdf? :whistle:

Yes, definitely - if you are coming off-road !

I looked at the bike map and made the decision that the car-bus map was clearer. I have been known to be wrong

.

(and that link isn't working for me at the mo'

)

Look forward to seeing you - without the paint etc

Of course, if coming from further afield, you could always take an alternative form of transport (train/car ?) to a point nearer (Linlithgow/Embra), ride
Laie_76A.gif
to the RV,
glutton.gif
,
cheers.gif
then :bicycle:back to the 'alternative transport'.
