I'm not saying people shouldn't donate. I am interested in knowing what the £1200 covers, if there are other funding models (answered in part now already), and in knowing that the forum's future secure. And if continued funding is needed, in avoiding it being too 'hand to mouth'

I am more than happy to contribute.....I do with a car (oh I am dead.......) forum........but this place needs supporting ..... annual, or monthly fella...I am in........ these places don't run on fresh air, even bikes don't - all that flippin food.....

£1200 a year does not buy a lot of server space, support, maintenance, hosting etc etc

In any case I like Marinyorks concept of the 'virtual pint' providing he likes premium Lager or Appletini's (not cheap ales) its what £3-£5 a drink.

I don't know much about it but a fairly simpe forum does't use that much bandwidth does it?

a simple hiosting package is like £10/month, I'd be genuinely interested in nowing what an active forum costs to run, it's not like CC is run on a server in admin's garage is it, it'll be paid for webspace

Someone (who shall remain nameless untill I have the booty) has offered me an old frame if I pay postage and make a donation to the CC fund.

Many of us will be a bit strapped for cash (Like Uncle Monty), but how many of us (especially the aged hoarders amongst us) have a few spare parts knocking about that they wouldnt mind getting shot of for the postage and a donation instead?

Sure it wont as plenty of us will give.. but we can help in other ways... eg, If it really becomes an issue we can slot CC onto my server at work we have 5 or 6 web servers and it can be hidden in there no probs.
