Mine goes back to a cricket club tour to Somerset, a few years back, when the satnav (a TomTom) packed up upon trying to find the ground we were playing it in the Bath countryside. I took over navigating and got us hopelessly lost and one of the lads named me the GavGav instead of the Tom Tom. It has stuck as my nickname at the club since

A family joke regarding people who use satnavs on motorways or drive with them permanently on. Whenever we passed them or they passed us, they have always said the same thing "straight on", so it because a bit of a joke - guess what their satnav says? Anyhow, going off to cycle around the world, needing a new ID on the internet and none of our other ones being appropriate or safe to use, and never having had a satnav and having no plans to have one, we finally decided on SatNavSaysStraightOn because that was all they ever seemed to say and if we were ever lost we always went straight on because it makes backtracking so much easier!
