Is it possible to hide the sections I never visit on here?

The number has grown a lot recently and it's, at times, an irritating scroll to get to where I want to be
See "How do I" in Site as to how its done.

I've recently been thinking the same thing- IMO it's getting very confusing on the main index page, and I'm glad it's not just me thinking this. There doesn't seem to be a 'How do I hide forums I never visit' question, only one to exclude posts from the New Posts feed. Maybe @Shaun can enlighten us?

I think you've missed my point! I don't use the 'new posts feature', and don't intend to start- I prefer browsing the forums in the 'classic' manner, but I don't particularly appreciate scrolling down X many pages past whole sections like "Bikes, Equipment and Services", "Health, Fitness & Training", and "Cycling Sport" (I.e. those I have no interest in), to get to the cafe, for example! When the forum index was a little less diverse, it wasn't quite so tedious trying to find the right forum. Some sort of 'section minimise' button (associated with a login) on each heading would be nice.

Fair enough, best I could find.

That's my point entirely. i don't use the New Posts Feed not that it helps in this case.

Would be nice to have a 'no visibility' option on the sections I never visit.

Best workaround I have is to just individually bookmark the half a dozen sections I do visit.

You are lucky, at one stage it went to 62 sub-forums. I think it is now 57. On a membership per capita basis, it would probably lead the league table.

... Or just try the new posts way which will do exactly what you want?

Not really the same...... That gives you a list of new posts from whatever boards you have chosen NOT to ignore. At the rate of posting on this forum, my "new posts" board on page 1 currently only covers the last 34 minutes of posts! (And I have removed a lot of boards from the "see new posts" function).

I too would like to see the facility that the OP wants so that you can go to the home page and then just see and browse through your chosen boards, rather than all the clutter that I never look at.
I have been thinking the same. I keep clicking into Cycle Clubs because my well trained CC mouse finger scrolls down to where Cafe is, but of course it isn't anymore!
Have the same challenge. Generally blogs have the most visited sub- forums on the top or nearly at the top and any advert / income driving subforums following closely behind. It will be easier if there was few broad categories and less sub-forums.

So now I have started to place alot of multiple pages recurring threads in the ignore list to get to what I am looking for under the "new posts"

You seldom see forums allowing "ignore threads" as it is not attractive to advertisers. Ignoring a particular members feature is the norm.

+1 to that
