Not fair

We're getting a yellow lab pup later in the year and although he'll technically be youngest's dog, I know who will be doing the early, late and wet weather walks :rain:

I really can't wait as this is our first family venture in to pet ownership.

<<<Alfie, first sight of him at the rescue centre. He;'s the laziest, daftest cat we've had- even the vet said "he's not too bright"...

Have fun!

Can I suggest getting hold of a copy of Jan Fennell's dog listener book? It's full of easy little tips to help keep harmony in the household by treating the dog as a dog. It's very easy to accidentally give conflicting signals and confuse everybody with regards to their place in the pecking order/pack.

There's another thread somewhere with this picture on, a Noodley thread, entitled everyone should have at least one pet but there's no harm in there being another thread.

And in case you're wondering how you grab the attention of a Labrador, it's easy. Hold the camera in one hand and a treat above your head in the other. Look carefully at the reflection in his eyes. I could photoshop it out but it's amusing like that. Reminds me where his priorities lie.

Just call me Chris...
This is our little Maisey, spotted at the local rescue centre a Year ago to this very day.
She was in exactly the same kennel as our last dog came from and looked just as gormless!

She had some behavioral issues, her scars and blind terror whenever we approached her suggests that her previous life wasn't too great.
A Year on though (nearly) she's never happier than when curled up on our laps on the settee snoring loudly enough to wake the dead!
