The weather is set to get rough today so I'm starting to think.about the heating. Got yours on yet?
It's not so yet but I'm thinking I.need it to beat condensation etc.

Still paying off last year's bill:sad:

heat helps a little with reducing condensation but only slightly. airflow is what you need , and the dryer the air the better.

if its any consolation, we put the heating on for winter 2012/13 in mid Jan 13 and it was off by mid March 13. we aim for similar this year

lit the fire last night for the first time, and enough wood already chopped for the winter, already hunkering down..

We have been paying silly monthly bills all summer, so we are miles in front before the winter arrives , at last count we were over £300 in credit, so for once in my life when the wife says "turn the heating on" I will not need to go into my Basil Fawlty impression , stomping round the room like a demented mad man.

You mean people turn off their heating?

Our Aga stays on for 10 months a year and goes off for two months when the sun streaming in the bifold windows heats the kitchen to a tropical 32 degrees C, when even Mrs Gti admits she's warm. The multifuel stove has been lit several evenings since June and last night we burned the first log from a birch I cut up last February - it burned well and cleanly. Meanwhile the heating is switched on and will run if the temperature in the hall drops to 19 degrees.
