A friend of mine has suffered badly from this for 7 years now and it has changed his life in many unfortunate ways.
In the last year or so the medics have finally diagnosed his condition and got the medication correct to such an extent that he now feels able to test the water on a bike again. His balance was catastrophically damaged by the condition. It's still not good though.
Today's the day and he and I are going to our local outdoor track to see how he gets on. To say that we're both nervous is an understatement. I'm terrified that he's going to collapse in a heap and damage himself, his bike, his confidence and possibly me.
