Chain Life Expectancy?

As per title. What mileage do you get out of your chains? Just for future reference, ta.

Dunno..mine's been noisy from day one......I use a heavy lube on it.......

I have a tight/slack spot on my chain, which seems to stretch my chain abit faster, but i don't really go by mileage on the fixed, more by how it sounds/how its running.
Then ill just go get a new chain.
Probably a few thousand miles i think, which is alot more then when i rode gears.
