Dry lube? In Scotland?
By mid June the snow might have melted, but make sure to bring your arctic weather gear just in case, and don't forget the midge repellant.

Chip oil, car oil, chain oil. When it makes a noise, slap it on. It will work.

The chances of you getting from LE to JOG in June without rain is almost impossible. Therefore its common sense that you use wet lube so you wont have to be continually re lubing your chain, and worse, let your chain dry out completely. The less maintenance on LEJOG the better.

Maybe to the detriment of the drivetrain, I only relubed once in my 9 day end-to-end. And also on last year's London-Edinburgh-London (1440km) I lubed once at about 900km. Wet lube since (as wfb has said) no chance it will be dry all the way.
Much more important is to carry midge protection (in June). Stop and it's a significant challenge. Headnet and Smidge as a minimum. Was like cycling into a blizzard riding out of Lairg 6pm Day8.
Midge forecast - apparently they're out earlier than last year.
