Yebbut, have chains changed much in that time?
:giggle:

A little, maybe, probably over 10 or more years rather than 4 years.
1. Chains have stronger riveting, meaning that joining a chain using a chain tool is now the weak link, to the extent that it's better to use a re-usable connector rather than just push the pin back in using a chain tool.
2. Some expensive chains come with weight-saving cut outs in the side plates.

As the originator of this thread, surely you've decided what to do by now, as you said 4 years ago that you were designing a recumbent. Is it finished yet?

I built the Ratrike (KMX based) as a starting point and that came with a chain and a 7 speed cassette. I added a triple chainring.

Now I am working on The Creature, a front drive tadpole trike with hub gears so I am looking at single speed chain.
Considering a Patterson 2 speed BB and a Sturmey Archer 8 speed.

Building an electric tractor, and renovating my house so that I can marry Arch, has got in the way a little, as has being ill for the last couple of years. But I am getting there.
