Chain stay protector.

My Brompton came with a piece of plastic loosely wrapped around the chain stay where the front end hooks on. I thought it was just for shipping but the bike store informed me that they recommend it be left on. Is there a more presentable solution that others have come up with? Also, what other protection should I be taking to stop the frame from being roughed up?

On a more pleasant note, we had a beautiful sunny day here on the South West coast of Canada and I got out on my first ride on the bike. It really is amazing how decent a bike it is while still folding up so small. I am very pleased.

Helicoptor tape is the normal option. There are some aftermarket adhesive ‘shields’ for Bromptons.

Very easy to fashion a piece of old inner tube into shape and secure it with some contact adhesive. Effective and free.

I used black gorilla tape because I have black Brompton but the inner tube idea has me thinking.
