We need some clarification of the rules in here. Are foreign words (other than borrowed words like pizza etc) permitted?

For example,
RECURENT third-person plural past historic of recevoir
is French and not normally heard in standard English.

I think the adding of an 's' just to make a word plural doesn't really create an entirely new word.
I'd also exlude proper nouns.

Last thing, words ought to be verifiable by a dictionary entry if challenged. I can't find
in any dictionary and it seems clear to me that it's merely a misspelling from another forum for the word 'precedent'.

Sorry if I appear to be nit-picking, I love word games but they're no fun if there's no limitation forcing you to be creative. There's no challenge otherwise.

I was not aware that there were any rules to the game apart from those that shaun talked about at the begining of the thread. If there are certain rules that should be followed for this sort of thing, then by all means I bow to others knowledge of these things.

However, as a colonial who did not learn to write until it was practically time for me to attend high school I will no longer fit in here. I wish everyone who continues with the game best wishes.

Even those simple rules aren't being followed, see Posts 86, 87 & 88 and Posts 91, 92 & 93 where they don't follow the rule of changing only one letter.

There's no fun in a game that has no limitations. Otherwise I could simply change a random letter of a previous word to create a 'new' one, whether it made any sense or not and whether it really existed or not (of which there are many examples in this thread).
