Change down the gears before stopping!

thats how i had one clipless. coming down a steep hill so in top gear, get to the lights at the bottom and i forgot. Go to set off and i go know where, over i went.

Real fixed riders do not struggle. We move off in a controlled manner swooping past riders frantically changing up and down playing with their sti's

'Cos I have down-tube levers, and so can't change gear, brake, and stay in control all at the same time.

It happens to me sometimes, but mostly I try to anticipate stopping. It can be amusing seeing peds on a crossing looking alarmed as pedal towards them trying to change down, I will always stop before the line but if they don't cycle they don't understand the need to pedal when changing down...

This is why God gave us hub gears.

I don't really play with the gears like this because if I did I think I wouldn't have any left after another of my seven day commutes.At least these cyclists stop.I keep catching the slow ones who dont bother.

1 gear all 74" of it - TBH I'll pass a geared bike within 20 metres.....
If I'm in front, no-one is passing me....grrrrr

Same. Sure a good roadie might pass me 100yards down the road, once they've got into a high gear, but how often do you get 100yard of road without obstruction in London?

I used to be like that because my chain kept jumping. Now that is sorted I just can't seem to get back in the habit.
