Not sure you are right about the old Galaxy's having integral gear hanger though. I've rebuilt one that doesn't. Thought it was 70's but I could be wrong.

Wow that's brilliant. I have accounts with both these shops. I thought this was the end for this bike as the Huret is by far the worst part of the bike and is annoying me with it's sloppy set up. I have a nice new Sora waiting to be fitted now. Only £2.99 Mrs. B will be pleased too as I've just spent a fortune on new tyres/tubes (the bike had been sitting in a spare room for 35 years).
My green Galaxy is a 1980s not 70's which does have an integral threaded hole. (sorry!). The red one is early 70's (I think) although it doesn't have the words Galaxy on the frame - it may have been a shop build from a frame set.
