changing tyres

I currently have bontrager xr1 expert tyres on my trek superfly 5. I am taking part in event that involves 60m of mostly road cycling in the lake district and would like some advice as to whether I should switch tyres/inner tubes and if so what would you recommend.

You need to tell us what wheels you have (particularly what rims) eg 622-21, and what tyres are on them at present. Are you running them tubeless? I think instead of Bontrager xr1 expert 2.2" knobblies you'd enjoy 60 miles mostly on the road (is there any off-road and what surface?) much more on slicks and narrower eg 37-622 or you may prefer wider ones eg 51-622 (slightly depends what else you'd use them for).
