Excuse what is probably a numpties question but here goes:

On a bike with cable disc brakes, is it simple to change wheels? I'm guessing that the pads sit pretty close to the disc, so there is some way of slackening them off to make it easier to get the wheel back and/or adjust if putting on wheels with slightly more/less worn discs?

Thanks in advance.

the pads shouldn't be touching the discs unless you're pulling on the levers, the clearance is narrow but its enough. I've never had a problem dropping my wheels out and in again.

Am I right in also saying - "DON'T touch (squeeze) the brake levers while the wheels are out !" ? :headshake:

I believe that with some hydraulic brakes you must not apply the brake with the wheel removed. On mechanical cable operated ones it doesnt matter.

I have cable discs on my Trek hybrid. Removing a wheel is no problem, You just need to guide the disc carefully into the slot when replacing.
