I ride in jeans and boxers for 25 mile pootles on my Spoon and it's fine. On longer rides I wear padded shorts or tights.
A 25 miler is a 'pootle' for you? Feck I need to cycle more...

pootling, surely, is a state of mind/style of riding, the antithesis of 'pressing on', regardless of distance?A 25 miler is a 'pootle' for you? Feck I need to cycle more...![]()

Quite so. A certain lack of speed as well.pootling, surely, is a state of mind/style of riding, the antithesis of 'pressing on', regardless of distance?![]()
I've a spoon on my CX, and it's great. I put the boardman saddle from my CX onto the Team Carbon because it's the same only with a little more padding as I got a fair bit of numbness in the lower regions from the original Boardman saddle.
The CX one though now feels like it sags in the centre and gives me numbness too... now i would get a spoon for the carbon, but I've always felt like it's a bit bulky for the lightweight bike. Is the knife worth a shot or should I just get another spoon?
Ps Apologies for hijacking the thread, but while you're all in one place...!!
oops, sorry for confusing post. Spoon on CX is great... just wanted something a bit more sleek for the carbon bike... but just as comfy. If the Spoon is giving you numbnuts (like it did for me) try a saddle with a cut out. I went for a Specialised Romin and fnd it great![]()
in terms of how often I see them, second only to brooks on the group long rides I've done. It's too late really because, after looking at this thread I just ordered one anyway, but what's the Charge Spoon like for longer rides?
