Hi all,

I'm not sure i have posted this in the correct place so apologies.

I'm thinking of taking a nice long ride round my old childhood roads and Charing Hill is amongst these. Has anyone ridden this hill and can you give me any tips on how I should go about tackling it? Its not particularly steep, 6% I think, and not that long, maybe 2ks, but I've not done anything like this before on road.
I'm fairly fit and cycle regularly but I really don't want to have to get off and walk!!

Cheers

Michael.

It's easy enough. Though traffic can be a little fast at times.
Just throw your bike into a low gear and spin up. When you see the Indian Restaurant on the right you only have about 100 YARDS to the top where you can have a rest at the shops on the left if need be,

I did a search for "Charing Hill" and two of your posts came up, I think they were your club rides, both sound good although they were back in 2009!

Sorry for the stupid question but by low gear you mean an easy one?
Thanks for the reply.

Watch out for the kick as the road takes a left turn - it can catch you out if you're not prepared

If you're REALLY having fun, take the little lane to the left near the top - called The Wynd - it will certainly blow away any cobwebs
