My mum is looking for a different pair of pedals because she doesn't get on with the pair that came on her Specialized Sirrus Elite. They are single sided which she doesn't get on with, and her foot slips off.

Is there any reason not to buy these?

Are there any alternatives £10 or not much more that are known to be better?

Many thanks

That's a very good entry level pedal is that. The primary issue with cheapo pedals is non straight axles - they'll do yer knees in. The MKS pedals have a good level of grip, decent durability and for that money you can't go wrong.
