Hello all,

Has anyone ever purchased one of the cheap turbo trainers from eBay ? I don't have a lot of room and am also time poor so with one of these I could do a bit of training before and after work in order to bring my very poor fitness up to scratch.

Thanks all

Good basic trainer that uses fluid for the resistance so it gets harder the faster you pedal rather than relying on mag resistance .
Only downside was the instructions which are the usual rubbish instructions as it doesn't tell you how tight you have the drum on the wheel but it isn't hard to work out .

i used mine linked to zwift on my laptop linked with basic speed/ cadence sensor and although not as immersive as a smart trainer it was certainly good enough to keep me hooked and keep the fitness levels up over winter

Not *cheap* cheap but I picked up a Saris M2 from that shop that also sells car parts for £200 in January. At the time they were claiming it was reduced from £400-odd but it’s been that price for so long they just list it at £199 now.

It’s Smart (measures power cadence and speed) but you can also just set a power level and use it as a ‘dumb’ trainer. The ‘smartness’ opens up lots of options for what you can do with it. It all seems very robust so should last a decent amount of time so if the entry price isn’t an obstacle I think it’s very good value.
