No works Christmas do, but got three bottles of Morrisons wine, a little bonus and a pay rise. Spent the bonus on some port and some whisky on the way home.

No work till next year, but I will be on email duty.

One my daughters is a teacher. She finished work at 2pm today, is getting a taxi from Sudbury, Suffolk, to a hotel tonight near Gatwick ready to fly out tomorrow morning to Cuba for two weeks of salsa and other dancing, with Christmas thrown in.

That's the trouble with educating women, they never think their dads might like a fortnight in the sun!

Technically, I finished about 5.30 yesterday - but spent another hour working from home first thing this morning, and then had a couple of emails to sort. But I've done nothing work related since about 4pm. (Actually, I've pretty much done nothing at all since about 4pm. Life is good.)

Left work at 2.15, dashed home, showered, raced to station, made the 2.57 train by the skin of my teeth. On my way over to NT's and we head to my Mum's probably on Sunday.

I won't be done until we set off on Sunday.

My insurance plan was to send my wife a text asking after proposed theoretical port budget a few minutes before going into the shop, then to present the port before the bonus news. I then gave her some of the whisky. Jobs a goodun.

Oh and this year's port cost half what last year's port cost, I might have blurted that out as soon as she was through the door

It was looking touch and go that a courier would not deliver some stuff today for onward shipment to Ethiopia and I'd volunteered to do the decent thing and go in on Monday, when the office is closed and wait for it, but it turned up 30 minutes before the deadline to get DHL in to do the onward shipping bit. Result.

So I'm now finished not just for Christmas but for 2012 too.

That's me done and dusted, I knocked off at 4pm today and not back again until 8.45am on 03.01.13. The first time in 20 years of working that I have had a long break at this time of year

For once I've no external marking, which hits next year's holiday budget, but means I do get a proper break.

I've got the weekend off, so;
Saturday; 'ParkRun' (@ Pontefract) tomorrow morning, then off 'steam spotting' in the afternoon (60009 'Union Of South Africa' is out on the main-line)

Sunday; possibly Club-run in the morning ('long steady XC')

Monday 24th; back to work for an afternoon shift (13:00 - 22:00)

Tuesday 25th; 06:00 - 15:00

Wednesday 26th; possibility of an afternoon shift?? (15:00 - 20:00??)

Thursday 27th; Day-Off

Friday 28th; 14:00 - 22:00

Saturday 29th; 13:00 - 22:00

Sunday 30th; Day-Off , 'Man v Bike' race with the 'Denby Dale Travellers' (I'll be running it)

Monday 31st; Day-Off. 'Auld Lang Syne' fell-race at Haworth, in the morning. Brownlee brothers are the top-tips to win!! (then a night-shift; 22:00 - 07:00!! )
