Evening all,

I've just relocated to the Cheltenham area and am struggling to find a decent roadie oriented LBS around here. Anyone got any recommendations?

If anyone has any tips on clubs they'd be gratefully recieved too although it'll be a week or two before I have time to start thinking about joining one.

Cheers

Cheltenham Cycles - Winchcombe Street.......opposite Blockbuster Video. A good shop, mostly Trek, but a good shop with knowledgeable staff.

Alternates are Williams Cycles (for general cycle - some road stuff), Leisure Lakes for a bit more (but plenty of mountain bikes)

Cheltenham & County Cycle Club is a local club - good time trial scene, a number of road racers. Can't comment on their club runs.

Roylan cycles give very good personal service (got my Giant from there)

Leisure lakes in pittville st are well stocked as is Cheltenham cycles (not that cheap) nr blockbusters, and the staff are always helpful and keen.

Williams cycles is a bit run of the mill, being an independent but not really coming across as having the trained staff of the other shops or the stock levels considering the size of the shop.

There is a Bianchi dealer called striking bikes near the cinema on the bristol road as well in Gloucester who is very helpful.

Minds gone numb I'm afraid.

Try them all.

Wednesday evening 7pm @ the tea room in pittville park for the ctc evening run, but they go out on sunday morning as well from the top of tunnel hill o the other side of Dowdswell IIRC

Ask in the shops, they will set you right.

CTC club rides are 7:15 Thursday evenings, and 8:30 Sunday morning (9:00 winter), both from the pittville park tea room.
Cheltenham&County have a Sunday ride jointly with the CTC "A" ride, and a more training oriented ride separately, same place/time. They also do a Tuesday evening ride (I think), and a Thursday evening time trial

That's great guys, cheers. I'll have a look around the shops and ask about the club runs while I'm in there. I know what you mean about Williams, Linford - I was in there this morning. Leisure lakes is good to know about - I bought my Spesh from them in Lancaster and the service was great. I'll check out Roylan's as soon as I have the chance.
