It took me ages to realise that the Ferry that sunk of Zebrugge was called The Herald Of Free Enterprise, and not, as I always heard it The Heralda Free Enterprise.

I also remember people on the news talking of 'The Golf Region' and how some guy called Saddam Hussein was becoming a worry. Presumably because he could put in a mean sub 70 round.

You remind me of hearing about the plight of the Ugandan Asians... I always wanted to know where Ugandanasia was.

The President of the USSR was Michail Goldychoff, the second in line to the Throne Frone was Frince Charles, and, the woman who lived next door was called 'Roof' (Ruth).

I would then watch Thomas The Fankator (don't ask me why) on the telly (Thomas The Tank), I'd have my tea, before going up the stairs to have a baff and then go to bed.

My Gran and Grandpa used to argue from time to time and I remember, after watching Eastenders once, innocently asking them when they were going to get a divorce ^_^

Predictably, they just laughed at me.

I used to think this was a real fight  bloody adults spoiling it

I remember seeing a ride at a themepark somewhere on the telly, Universal Studios or somewhere, where people were put into a scene from a disaster movie, complete with exploding cars and so on.

I remember thinking that they must have had quite a few suicidal people to drive the exploding cars etc, and was wondering how many people died every day and whether they worked for free or what.

I was a bit of a backwards child though.
