childs bike with trigger gearshift advice

Hi all
im looking to buy my son a mountain bike.
he is 9 and 1.4m high so looking at a bike with 24inch wheels,not too sure on a frame size?
My question is are there many bikes that have the trigger gearshift rather than the twist grip as i think he will struggle with them.
Can anyone give any advise.
looking to spend between 150 and 250 if possible so dont mind buying a decent 2nd hand one.

Buy a set of trigger shifters and change them over yourself.
