Anyone got any idea how much it should cost to get a woodburner chimney swept?

I paid about £40 ish a year or two ago.

On my last trip to France, I bought a set of brushes at the "Bricolage", and do it myself now.

Buy a set of rods and do it yourself. Depending how often you use your burner it can be worth sweeping it every 6 months or so.

You should sweep your flue at least annually so it is worth getting your own.

Do it the Yorkshire Dales way: drop a live chicken down the chimney.

Might do that eventually, but not for the first one when we're moving in, decorating etc!
