Not here offten enough to argue
I havent passed this with SWMBO yet - but i have upped my price range for my C2W scheme

so its either of these now

Giant Defy 3 Triple
Specialized Sectour triple
caad8 Sora triple
caad synapse triple

which one would you choose??

CAAD8, but I'd get a double, simples

Personally going the £1000 max I would go for the Cube Peloton Race due to it looking the bogs dollocks, the power train spec and wheels are excellent for the price as well as internal cabling.

No longer a Specialized fanboy
I would (and did) go for the secteur.

The secteur and synapse are what are know as endurance road, as in they are a bit more upright and a bit less weight on the wrists. The others are more along the line of "racing" bikes.

If you are in the physical condition to be able to use a racing bike for your rides then choose whichever you like, but for me, being a bit older and fatter Im glad of having a more upright position!

As your have written "I rie for fun, fitness and fat burning" under your avatar I would suggest you look towards the synapse or secteur, as they should let you keep riding further for longer.

What I mean is what ever suits your riding style/abilities, whether that's a standard double or a compact. I've just personally never seen the point of a triple on a road bike TBH.
maybe you should come and try the welsh hills - might change your mind on that triple then

Maybe, but then again I go upto the Lake District fairly often and have always managed with just a compact round there

I would go for the secteur, its a really good bike imho. I also have a high regard for Specialized who have given me personally a high level of customer service. Great bikes are easy to buy, great customer service less so.
