Radio 2 used to be better (Wogan!) but now Evans and Steve Wright ..eugh (factoids drive me nuts!).. Bland, bland bland. Do they think everyone in their 40's just wants to try and relive their youth?

On another note - Classical or Radio 3 Is there any point when in a car? Can't hear a damn thing most of the time

Wrighty has gotten well dullard; he had his moment (IMHO) many years back with the likes of Sid the manager and Mr Angry from Purley. Those were the days with the posse. Perhaps mid 90's. What a bloater he is these days as well

I used to liked Jo Whiley on Radio 1, but then compared to Glover Fan I am old. The breakfast show on Radio 1 has been like that for years though has it not, and other stations seem to have similar nonsense at that time of the day, so it clearly appeals to someone.

Ha! I thought Jo Whiley sucked. More than any other presenter I had ever heard. Must be a generation ting.

Isn't it a good thing he didn't play any music, modern pop music being such bland, corporate, style-over-substance sh1te.

Possibly that's true of the stuff played on mainstream radio, but there's plenty of great new music out there if you know where to look.

I listen to my local station at home, the breakfast show makes me laugh, then during the day if i'm in the car I get local news/alerts etc.
But once out of sunny Sussex I loose the reception, on a recent drive to Derbyshire I was about to flick through the stations, I like the song being played so stopped at Radio1 - I then spent the next hour being bored senseless by Sara Cox.. TBH I could have changed station, but I stayed tuned just to see if she would shut up & actulay talk about something intresting, something otther than herself & her friends/family/hamster..or play another tune - she didn't.
I bought a couple of new CDs for the drive home!
