I got more bonus this year than i did last year...but by the time i got it in the bank...i got less ....a lot less !

38% lost in tax....JEEEEZUS. Give me a bonus CUT next year, i might get more

LOL it wasnt even monthlly..it was a weeks wages plus bonus.
I thought i had been ripped off, but when i enquired with the tax peeps, i had actually underpaid tax this time last year...lulling me into a false sense of what to expect this year. Gutted all the same.

Yeah, it's depressing. I was trying to give one of my staff a bonus yesterday but when I calculated the extra tax and NI that she (and me for the extra employers NI) it was coming out at a 60% deduction.

I just gave her cash from my pocket.
