We wer awoken at 5:30am as out four year old daughter had already got up, gone downstairs and made a start in opening presents. She only got through a few and only the ones with her name on. Not bad considering she managed to get through the stair gate and downstairs without turning on the light.

Christmas dinner was served at 2pm, all cooked and prepared by my good self. Christmas tea is now being prepared by Mrs O.

Sadly I am struggling with a stinking cold and headache, so not much in the way of booze so far...

...there's still plenty of time.

Hoping to get out on w bike tomorrow, but really need this cold to subside a little first.

Currently enjoying a small Talisker after some family insanity with a tank of helium. It was a festive ballon kit but it was repurposed to provide voice modification. Still got loads left for tomorrow's post fry up entertainment.

Spent the day with my friend: 4 miles uphill the ride there, we demolished an enormous leg of lamb plus trimmings, Just as well the ride home was mostly downhill.
Think I've digested the dinner ... considering cake now :hungry:

It's been a long but lovely day. Kids were great, woke us up with a cup of tea at 7am. Had a nice walk with the dogs in the rain, opened pressies, nice breakfast about 10am and Christmas dinner at 4pm, I cooked  and we all over ate. 0 points for presentation, but it tasted mighty fine.

Got the inlaws down from Yorkshire and popped over to my folks for coffee and stollen late morning. Now in that kind of hiatus where others are watching tv, kids are playing and I'm wondering what to do. Had some fab pressies, nothing big but some great bits and pieces including a litre bottle of Nandos hot peri peri sauce from my wife. All told a really happy day.

A great day for me. Wife wanted us to cycle to her mothers for Xmas dinner, so we did the first time in 4 years that she has been on a bike.
Glad to say she wants to cycle more even though all the gears have become misaligned and the seat post dropped and she is now a bit sore all over. Now she has agreed that her decision to only spend £100 on her bike has come back to haunt her!
Still she has ok'd me going out and buying a turbo trainer so it has been a good Xmas for me;)

My Mum had bought baby carrots, and once the ends were trimmed off, we realised they looked like little orange Christmas trees, so I arranged them on the plates like little forests:

That was beef, spuds and Yorkies, there was also sprouts and chestnuts, and braised red cabbage, and gravy.

We've just had supper - leftover sliced beef, smoked salmon, cheese, bread, crackers, and NT's homemade berry buns.

Couldn't face any supper, just too full.

Yours looks lovely. For some reason I've got an urge to put little stick on eyes on your carrots:laugh:
