I work shifts sometimes, 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm, on the late shift this week. It does make me pick my route to avoid bad areas and I know other cyclists at work prefer to stick to the dual carriageways where as I ride up a quiet unlit river path.

Same shift pattern here too, never had any issues on any shift other than the odd shout of abuse on the 10pm ride home, always stick to the main roads at that time though, all other times I'll go with whichever route I fancy that day.

I leave for work at these times quite often on my shifts and frankly I love cycling along at 5 - 5.30am, roads are fairly clear and it is a lot more chilled out riding. Almost never see anyone about at this time other than a few other shift workers

I have these as well, they are very good, and I am sure I would have had quite a few punctures on the country roads I ride if I had left the stock tyres on.
