I bloody love Christmas me. I never used to, only since my son was born. I love spoiling the Mrs also. Throughout the year I spend more than I should on bike related stuff and she doesn't bat an eyelid. Or spend as much money on herself. I put by between £10 and £20 a week all year so that I can treat her to some really nice presents.
She always starts the Christmas food shop around this time of year, a couple of bits each week and we don't really notice the cost on top of the weekly food shop. By Christmas the cupboards are full and all we need to buy a few days before are the turkey and fresh veg.

Aaahh! It's only September and they are going on about Christmas! Can we get past Halloween, Mischief Night, Bonfire Night and into advent before we mention the C word.

I made a batch of redcurrant jelly a couple of months ago, and I'm saving a jar for the Christmas dinner table. I'm also making loads of jam and jelly, some of which will be gifts. I'm making it in the preserving pan I bought with money from my Mum - an early Christmas present!

What was the "best before" date on them?

Unfortunately your list has come in a tad too late as a certain someone in my house has already given me a list which includes a new bike and clothing. I doubt there will be any money left to buy you anything, sorry.

not long now - better put the sprouts on ;)

You are having a laugh aren't you? You should have had your sprouts on by now. The end of April is the recommended start time. You'll have to microwave yours or use a pressure cooker. Its only 12 weeks away so your sprouts will still be rock hard.
You only have yourself to blame.
