Christmas shopping: Get it done early - mad rush on Christmas eve?

Christmas shopping starts at 5.51pm on 24th December. I didn't realise you could do it earlier....

I'll never forget the drunk bloke I met in Penge high street about 7.30 one Christmas Eve, stumbling about and asking folk if they knew anywhere he could get a turkey, as otherwise his wife would kill him... I often wonder how that marriage panned out...
